  1. Existentialism is a philosophical movement which posits that individuals create the meaning and essence of their lives, as opposed to it being created for them by deities or authorities or defined for them by philosophical or theological doctrines.

    So yes and no!

    It allows people to follow what ever they feel they want, hence not being placed in boxes...this could be distructive in many ways! But it could also be enlightening! It is a movement that allows/helps people to find meaning for there own lives, not the one dictacted to them1

    It ultimately depends on how you look at the question1


  2. No.  Existentialism leads to nihilism and / or solipsism.  Nietzsche leads to deconstruction.
