  1. No.  That was a terrible tragedy caused by a natural disaster and poor planning.

  2. the short answer is no. earthen damns are structures that are delicate in nature to begin with. while they can last for many years if properly maintained, likely the d**n was weakening for several months before it broke.

  3. Wow--levees and even dams are breaking and breachng like crazy now!  I'm guessing this will be a great excuse for raising water prices and crops prices.  This is evil and disgusting.

  4. It's a pity Yahoo can't put some sort of time lock so only one question in an hour can be asked to prevent people from flooding with what are really statements they are making and not genuine question!

  5. Of course it did.  Global warming (even though it is a hoax) caused everything from warts to bad breath; from syphilis to grey hair; from lieing politicians to stupid voters.  Global warming causes EVERYTHING!!

  6. of course not!

  7. i would say it's possible!

  8. Yes, it did. i saw it! Well, my friend, I didn't really see it. But my friend, Chicken Little, he saw it! He came running past shouting, "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!", but I knew he meant the dam was gonna break. I prayed to the god Al Gore for guidance...

  9. The cause was not global warming unless you feel 8" of rain is the result of global warming. An earthen dam protecting an Indian reservation is more likely human poor judgment in that area.
