Did he just ask me to marry him?

My boyfriend and I were talking and the topic came to him saying "If I asked you to be my wife what would you say?" I know it wasn't exactly a proposal but what should I think?

BTW I said "yes"

He probably wanted to feel love, y'know how guys are. They need ego boosts, it might have been the speed of your question that made him feel more loved.
