  1. In the number of listeners yes..

From the money factor - no  plus he doesn't have a boss telling him to watch what he says because Bush appointed FCC officers are telling him to watch Stern or they start fining hard.

What Stern got was more of his devoted fans so he doesn't have as many people to disagree with him anymore like on terrestrial.

But for Stern's point of view.. no he lost nothing except being able to call himself a king over NYC radio. If A democrat stays in office, we may see Stern do a O and A and come back I think edited for terrestrial and unedited for those who pay.

  2. It will be interesting to see what he does once his current contract ends in a couple of years.

Unless the sat rad industry can turn a profit, I doubt he would get any more money.  Of course, I think he is considering retirement once his contact expires.

  3. No.

Well at least not from my point of view.

Until Howard was on Sirius he wasn't available to me in the UK. Now he is and it's my favourite show.

    Great decision for me.

  4. No, he makes the mega millions wether anyone listens to him or not. It's a binding contract.

  5. No, because he was getting hassled by the FCC and the various terrestrial stations he was syndicated on.  Sirius is complete freedom of expression, plus he's got two entire channels with Howard programming 24-7.

He's also getting a huge amount of money, works a 4 day week, and gets like 16 weeks off a year.

As for the number of listeners, millions of people subscribe to Sirius, and he will potentially get millions more if XM and Sirius finally merge.

I've been a fan since the 1980s and I love the show on satellite.  Comparing satellite to terrestrial is like comparing HBO to network TV.  I don't know about you, but I'd rather watch a show like The Sopranos than Deal or No Deal, if you know what I mean.

  6. Howard Stern  and the little doggy company  SUCKS                                                                                                                              O&A RULES XM

  7. XM 202 - The Virus

    Opie & Anthony 6-11

    Ron & Fez 12-3

  8. Only a few million people hear him on Sirius versus the 12 million listeners he had before but Sirius paid him $302 million in 2006 alone so it's pretty hard to call that a mistake. Add to that the fact that Howard gets to do pretty much whatever he likes now with no censorship and I'd guess that he's a pretty happy puppy!
