  1. uh-huh...i believe it...

  2. so essecially you traded a good pair of size 12 shoes for one 8 inch shoe. I'ma go grab a beer.

  3. In all actuality, Pastel BP are one of the most common morphs out there these days. Usually, pastels, even young pastels can be bought cheap if you know where to look, and rarely are they full het pastels. Meaning if you were to breed them, you wouldn't get anything close to a pastel. Normal ball pythons at the length you described are worth around $120 to $150 depending on the s*x of the snake. Seeing that you paid two norm. BP for 1 Pastel BP, I'd say you got ripped off just a little bit. If you traded with a breeder or a dealer, they have ways of getting BP in any kind of shape to eat, and are probably going to sell them for a good chunk of change. It's not often that a dealer will lose a BP to malnutrition, in any case. But the quality of BP's has decreased drastically over the years. This means that if he sold them in a month or two, he could get every bit of $300 dollars or more out of them. If you sold yours in about 2 months, you'll be lucky if you get $150. And if you breed them, you won't get more that $50 to $80 a hatchling. That's a bad deal right there. If you are going to trade snakes, don't look at the snake itself, but it's heritage and what it's offspring could be. If you went to a good dealer, that's exactly what he did.

  4. Yes, that's an incredible deal.

  5. Yup, very good deal.  Pastels (even as hatchlings) are expensive and normal BP (assuming the other two were normals) are much cheaper - even juv/young adult normals.

Those poor two pythons.  I'm glad you got them away from the first guy.  For them to be under weight he must not have been feeding them that often or maybe they're sick or very, very finicky?  At only 1 mouse a week over the past 4 years my male has grown from a little hatchling to a good weight and has good solid (circulation stopping) muscle on him.  It doesn't take much.  Hopefully their new owner can get them up to weight.

  6. Why would you trade your ball python to begin with ? I just don't understand. People buy snakes and then give up or trade them out. Why? If you are good and respectful to your snake they will be the same with you. No, You didn't get a good deal. You got ripped off. If this guy didn't know how to care for the first one how is he gonna know how to care for two of them?
