Did i get biten or niped by my dwarf hamster?

Question

He bites or nips i guess, a lot... but has not drawn any blood. The worst I've seen is little mark holes in my hand, but it didn't hurt at all, just surprised me. So, have i yet not seen my hammy bite me?

if it doesn't hurt its most likely a nip dwarf hamster can draw blood and it will probably hurt when they bite my dwarf hamster has only bit me once (i scared him on accident) but nips all the time as if looking for food

I have a dwarf hamster and sometimes he nips but like your's never breaks the skin.  It's more like a pinch!  Did you just get him?  He could just be still getting used to you handling him.  The more you handle him the more tame he will become but move slowly and quietly so you don't scare him, you're a lot bigger than he is. Also you should wash your hands before holding him, especially if you've just eaten because he could smell the food on your hands and think your finger is a treat!  And also be careful when waking him up so you don't startle him.  Good luck! =)

Being so small, the nip could pass unseen. Sometimes you can feel like a small pinch.

I have two dwarfs Winter White Russians and they are very tame.Still, they often nip but it doesn't hurt at all. I taught them to nip my nails when they want food so I do not have to suffer. This is better for them too because if they bite me, i will react and could drop them down and hurt them.

Also, I make sure to have clean hands when I am handling them to avoid them nipping. They have poor eyesight and sometimes they can not tell if it's my finger or a treat they are smelling =D.

To avoid this accidents it is better to try to tame your hamster.  handle him as often as you can and gently speak to him, play with him, reward him with treats and do whatever your hamster likes.

each time my dwarf hamster bites it looks like a tiny vampire bit me, and sometimes I don't know until I see the blood.

its a nip i should know when my hamster bites i usually bleed all day through it was before though because now i domesticated him now i put my finger in front of his nose and he won't bite.
