Last night i was having a dream i was at my grandpa's house. in my dream i went to sleep and i started dreaming about something different; so i think i was dreaming inside a dream.

i was dreaming i was ontop of a big truck, bigger than a normal truck. i wanted to get off, and the only way to get off it was to jump. That's when i suddenely thought "hey i'm dreaming". so i jumped head first and put all my energy into flying upwards. the moment i tried to fly up i was in my bedroom, floating above my bed towards the ceiling. i felt a strong sensation in my stomach and really light. i didn't see my body sleeping, but i looked at my hands and they were see through, but i could still see them. i got a bit freaked out so i thought "i want to go back". suddenely i woke up in my grandpa's house where i was dreaming before. i went to tell my mum what happened in the dream but thats when i woke up for real.

i remember having pins and needles.

was it real?

has this ever happend to you?

  1. Out of body experiences only need certain circumstances to occur. Some minds can do it more easily than others. You don't need extreme circumstances for it to happen, there are people that are trained to do it almost at will.

  2. That's astral traveling.

You said something that caught my attention. I've never astral traveled that I knew of...but I do remember "flying down 2 flights of stairs " at home. But you said "it felt like pins and needles". I remember that feeling..and I always hated it. I wonder what it is...or if it's part of astral traveling.

  3. That's a pretty crazy (and fun) dream you had there.

  4. It was a dream.  Out-of-body experiences happen when your body is under extreme stress - such as when you are near death or under strong G-forces (test pilots have OBEs about 17% of the time).  It's just your brain freaking out and trying to calm you down so you don't do any more damage to your body.  It's all in your head, so it might as well be a dream.

  5. No not a OBE, just a Dream. I had these samethings. If you don't see your self on the bed or see anything real-time like a clock that says 4:32 or televsion show on y was in your dream and when you woke, then its a dream. Your 'Mind' created a 'Mental' copy of your bedroom. OBE is more real-time almost like the frequency of wake-consciousness not the low frequency of a dream.

  6. What you had was just a dream with a very twisty and indepth plot. Its the type of dream that messes with your head, but just a dream all the same.

When I was a teen I had a dream in which someone was insisting that it was thier dream and I was intruding in it. That one messed with my head for years.

  7. That is really cool.  It's called  lucid dreaming and it is something many people work hard at trying to do.  You seem to have the ability already.  Here are a few web sites you may want to check out---

Many people claim that lucid dreaming can bring about things in your life like giving you more confidence, better judgment and even bring about romances you want to happen.

  8. it could have been astral projection, but then again, it might have been a dream, but it was not an O.B.E., obe usually refers to a near death experience. I beleieve i have experienced astro projection a couple of times, maybe, but i can't be sure because i was asleep when it happend. I did feel very light, and was definatley flying. I remember thinking I wanted to go see some ppl, so I did, but they were asleep when I got there. I was enjoying the feeling until what i thought were child like spirits started attacking me and dragging me down. I had such a feeling of dread, I just wanted to go back to myself, and it was like, bam, there i was back in my body. I sat up and felt very heavy. So was it a dream? or astrol projection? I was told by a friend that is into a this sort of thing and does it regularly, that I projected, and  if your inexperienced,  negative spirits will come after you, if they catch you, you die in your sleep. So it can be dangerous for a novice. I found it scarey because I had not planned on projecting, it just happened. i am much happier saying it was a dream, and i am glad it hasn't happened again

  9. Honestly, it sounds like you had an OBE inside of a dream.  My daughter is a total sceptic despite my own leanings and she was at work one day and whilst she was working she suddenly instantly was zapped to the ceiling and was watching herself working and serving people.  She was so freaked out by it that she pleaded to go home and came straight to me and said, "I thought you were a total freak, but now, I think I am a total freak!  I was out of my body and awake, mum!"  I told her, "Welcome to my world!"

Anyway, I went off on a tangent then, in answer to your question, I have had dreams inside dreams and have had the kind of experience you describe.  The difference between an OBE and one manifested in a dream is that you remember it simply as an OBE and not one that happens inside a dream.

Having pins in needles upin waking is usually a sign that you have been sleeping on a certain part of your body and its circulation has been cut.  Your body gives you the signal to wake up and move your body around so blood can flow.  I don't believe it has anything to do with your dream state. (or Astral Travel Deenie! lol ... unless you cramped parts of your body so circulation doesn't flow while you've been flying!)
