Did i just get lucky with my dwarf hamster?

Question

So anyways yesterday was the day when i started training him to be picked up.

So anyways I made a little Bin cage attachement to my habit trail safari. Anyways I had out his little green house in it and he sleeps there all the time. But when i take the house out It turns into a Circular Room to train him in. So any ways I use his house as a scoop not to frighten him when he is being took out of his room. So anyways after he is inside his house( turned upside down as a scoop.) He just walks right up onto my hand.

Did i just get lucky? Also he had only bit me on the day that i got him at the pet store because I had him cornered in his cage at the pet store.

Also Thanks to hamster xpert for teling me that a Bin cage type add on would be good for my habitrail It has worked wonders scince yesterday. Also Hamster Xpert thanks for the training tips that I was going to use. Ill use them on the next one if this guy stays like he is.

Hi Puppydawg, you are really one lucky fella!!! Getting a hamster like that is pretty rare. He must be a very good pedigree hamster. Also you must have taken such good care of him on the first day itself that he starting liking you rightaway. It must have been a very happy moment when he walked right into your hands. he's unique. most dwarf hamsters are very nasty so i guess you did get lucky when you bought him :)

I had a boy and girl russion dwarf hamsters! They mated and we had five cute babies!! They were really friendly. Especially the boys!

My brother's Dwarf Hamster was the same way when we got him. Mine bit me for about 2 monthes, and his bit about once or twice during the first week. I think that we got lucky!!
