Did i prune my tomatos to soon?

before they even started all the way blooming i cut the leaves that didnt have blossoms on them.

  1. Why did you think tomatoes need pruning?  The leaves are the way the plant produces food.  By cutting the leaves you deprived the tomatoes of food to produce blooms.


  2. If you want extra tomato plants, you can root the pruning.  They root easily in water or soil.  I get lots of extra plants that way.

  3. Well, one nice thing is that cutting off the extra stuff makes all the energy used go right into the existing blossoms.  I'm not sure what zone you are in but I'm in zone 5 and my tomatoes will continue to bloom for quite a while longer.  So, even if you did cut them too soon they will probably bloom more.
