Question:

Did i pull, strain, or sprain my muscle?

The muscle between my hamstring and butt near the groin hurts when i stretch it, like kicking or doing splits. I hurt myself by doing to many aerial flips (cartwheel with no hands) at once.

How long would it take to heal? I need to practice some kicks for something important by the end of next week.

  2. Sounds like a strain you really should try to rest it as long as possible. You could try a rub maybe ibuporofen or if you are asthmatic deep heat or similar.

I'll tell you one thing...You can't "sprain" a muscle you can only strain a muscle.  Strain refers to a muscle pull and sprain refers to a ligament pull, which brings me to my next point, a "pull" and "strain" are referring to the same thing.  But yes, it does sound like you have strained your muscle.  If you are still kicking and doing splits, it's probably just a mild strain.  Ice after practicing and don't over do it.  Should feel better in about a week.  Good luck!
