I've never worked with film before, but i want to get used to working with film. I found my mom's Canon Rebel G, i decided to put new film in it. I never really put film in a camera before, but i did what the little picture showed, but when i put it in and everything the number showed "5" and it should be 24. I know i probably put it in wrong, but can fix it? I took 2 pictures to see what was going on so now it's on 3.

  1. Many film cameras tell you how many shots have been taken, others tell you how many are left. If the camera autoloads the film and you hear the winder bringing it all out of the canister, then the film goes back into the canister one shot at a time as you shoot; the camera usually goes to the high number and counts down. If you pull the film across and feed it into a slot on a spool then close the camera and c**k and shoot it it usually counts up from 0 or 1. In cameras that count upward you sometimes  have to rewind the film manually into the canister BEFORE you open the back of the camera. There is normally a button on the bottom of the camera to press as you wind it back in. Some will automatically rewind when you reach the end of the roll

You can access the manual from this page

Check page 5 of the manual  and page 15

As said here if you opened the back other than in a completely dark room or changing bag you have exposed the film its usually called fogging

  2. Don't worry about how many shots it's counting this time, but for reference there should be a small button underneath that resets the counter.

By opening the camera, you will have "fogged" the film and deemed the exposed stuff useless, and perhaps the next two frames you shoot.

  3. I think you pulled it out too much. After you pull them out you can't put them back in. Sorry I don't think there is anything you can do.

  4. Ask your mom if she had this problem with the camera.

  5. no prb 2 fix it
