Question:

Did i ruin my chances of getting into a top college?

I want something like cornell the thing is that i just started my junior year and have no extracurriculars, (just soccer), and nothing else although i have stellar grades (4.0 unweighted, top 1 percent of class and 2100 on psat)

Is it too late to start my extracurriculars

  2. No, it's never too late. Start building up a solid resume by volunteering in your local communities as well as joining other extracurricular activities that suite your interest. Remember, you're applying for college in your senior year, so anything before the application can be applied to your resume as a credential.

    Relax, you'll be fine.

  3. Extracurriculars are easy to pad and hard to verify -- therefore, universities don't really count them as much as people think.  You need them, but they won't be the deciding factors.

    Join a few academic clubs, include other activities (do some volunteer work at a hospital or on a political campaign), etc.

    Beyond the grades and SAT scores, the most important part of your application is the admissions essay.  You can even address your lack of activities there, if you think it is important.
