Did i use this semicolon in this sentence correctly?

The boxer was knocked out after the first round. Maybe it was his defense

  1. I wouldn't use a semicolon here.  I would use a dash.  And "It didn't look too good" is not very good grammar, if that is important.  Better English would say "it didn't look very good"  or just "it didn't look good."


  2. Leave no space between the semicolon and defense; the semicolon comes right after the word, and not after a space.

    Also, be careful not to confuse the word "to" and the word "too".

    In this sentence, it should be written "too", as in, "it didn't look too good."
