They don't have to serve you water, but most people will probably order water anyway, so it is a nice gesture on the waiter or  waitresses part. Doesn't everybody enjoy a nice cold glass of water after eating a sundae?

no not usually, but they should b/c after having ice cream ppl tend to get very very thirsty.So they should serve a glass of water after wards!
