I was told that waters vapors came up from the ground and thus rain was not needed. The Bible does mention water vapors but not sure of the rain.

  1. Absolutely not. Plants before the flood did not need water. Neither did people or animals. Only AFTER the flood did people crave water. Water is actually sin. It is the devil tempting you. If you give in to drinking water, you may give into drinking ANYTHING. Like alchohol or poison. Who tells you to drink water? SCIENTISTS aka, the devil's minion. See?

  2. YES it rained and fyi that was just a story

  3. No. Everyone got there water from holy dewdrops and angel sweat.

  4. of course! otherwise how would Noah be able to have a farm and how would all the ppl have food?! they would have run out of water a long time ago without the water cycle and rain!

  5. There is no mention of rain or floor prior to Noah.

  6. i would imagine, u have to have water to live

  7. Of course! There were plants and things growing. Since when, and who ever said the flood and Noah was the begining of time or something?

  8. Dr. Henry Morris, a hydrologist and creationist, has written several books about Noah's Flood.  According to his theories, from the time of creation until the Flood, the earth was surrounded by a vapor canopy (Genesis 1:6-8).  There was no rain until the Flood, when the vapor canopy collapsed, letting loose all the water that had been stored there.

Genesis 2:5-6 states "for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth... But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground."

Genesis 9:13, "I do set my bow in the cloud" would seem to indicate that there were no rainbows prior to the Flood.

  9. no. my grandma is a sunday school teacher and she said no

  10. If Noah and the flood story represents something that happened, it could be that this represented a period early in the  last great Ice age.

When the ice age started, the earth would have had precipitation, major precipitation all over the earth, not just the snow close to the poles. That would have followed a period of up to 300 years of mostly clear weather, global warming.

So anyone telling the story would have remembered mostly clear weather, followed by one really major rainfall that might indeed have caused at least local heavy flooding. And, while that rain AND SNOW UP NORTH was falling  we would have expected the ocean levels to have been dropping as the water built the great glaciers.

Was there rainfall before that? definitely. This rapid climate change may even have occurred many times before that. Of course Muhammad noted that there was evidence in the rocks that the Arabian peninsula had at an earlier time been a well watered tropical area, and he prophesied that this situation would repeat.

But of course as the  great ice age began to retreat, so also did the well watered status of both the  Arabian Peninsula and the Sahara. The global warming that re-filled the oceans with water from those glaciers also ended the long period of rainfall that had blessed those desert areas.

Was the whole earth covered with water? I am convinced that for anyone who had lived only on land and then floated out to sea, the effect would be, visually like the earth had been completely covered. When one floats out to sea, the land does appear to be sinking into the ocean if one does not know that the earth is a big ball and has no perception that this is just a visual image. Floating back to land of course makes it appear that the earth that was hidden is rising from the sea.

So, the story as told may have represented things as seen from the point of view of Noah.

  11. No, That is why no one believed him when he told them that it was going to rain..... Well let's put it this way ....No one living at the time had seen it.
