Did itachi let sasuke kill him or did he just get beat up???

did itachi let sasuke kill him.. if so why?.. and if not then how did he get killed?

Itachi let Sasuke kill him. Itachi was slowly dying form the Mangekyo Sharingans effects so he took medicine to prolong his life until Sasuke was strong enough to kill him. He wanted Sasuke to think he beat him by himself, he wanted Sasuke to be able to achieve the Mangekyo Sharingan

by killing someone close to him and he wanted the hidden leaf village to think Sasuke was a hero for avenging the Uchia Clan.

But Madara Uchina told Sasuke the real truth that the hidden leaf village ordering Itachi to slaughter the entire Uchiha Clan as they were attempting

on taking over the leaf village. Itachi reluctantly followed out his orders. Madara Uchina offered to help. When Itachi saw Sasuke he couldn't kill

him because he loved him so much so he told Sasuke to hate him in the hopes that he would be strong enough to kill him. I hope this helped.

Because nobody knows but Itachi was already beaten.Some say Itachi was sick and that gave and advantage to Sasuke.Or that someone beat him even before Itachi fought Sasuke.

Itachi gave his last amount of energy to Sasuke. Anyone who read the manga said that. That's why when Sasuke encountered, and looked, at Tobi for the very first time, Itachi's Amaterasu jutsu activated and threatened to burn Tobi. Itachi knew that it was Sasuke's destiny to fulfill whatever they have planned - which hasn't been said yet. Itachi viewed Tobi as a threat, and since Itachi knew all along that either Sasuke or himself would have to die, he gave his last amount of energy to Sasuke [killing himself in the process], in an attempt to keep him safe and protected from Tobi.

We all know that Itachi could've killed Sasuke; at least that's what I think, but the plot right now is really sketchy and kinda hard to follow. This is all that I can tell you for now, not much else has been clarified! :]
