  1. Well I guess you didn't read the whole thing.  The Apostles didn't know about heaven when they followed Jesus.

  2. Who knows.  It seems he was very close with Thomas Didymus.

  3. John, the author of the gospel of John and Revelation speaks of himself as "the disciple whom Jesus loved"

John 15 has several references to the love that Jesus had for His disciples even though He knew they were at that time self-serving followers. V.12 says "This is my commandment that ye love one another as I have loved you."

See also John chapter 13:1, 34

The verse quoted from Luke 14 in another answer is an incomplete quotation. Please read the whole chapter to see the context in which Jesus spoke about hating others. In the original the word translated 'hate'  refers to loving others more than Jesus

  4. they just wanted the free booze and fishes

  5. I would like to think that Peter, John, Magdalene, and maybe all the Apostles were friends.

    Who are your real friends?

  6. Jesus was more than a friend, Jesus was a teacher. for teachers like Jesus who guide to humanity, people should bag them to be one of their followers, so what a glory is being his friend.

  7. I come heer fro teh lulz; THAT was excellent.

  8. The big churches did not exist back then. To them he was just a guy walking around and preaching. I think he got their attention by giving the "Gift of God" to them. But that part gets overlooked these days. More on my bio.

So I do think he had real friends, and not just those we see these days that want to pass their punishment on to him!

Very interesting question. Yeah, he had close friends, and he was actually giving them the Keys to the Kingdom... which people these days hate to admit.

  9. It was God's will that they be saved, which is why he provided them with a sacrifice. So their choice was whether to choose God's way or not. And if they would choose his way, they were called his friends: "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you." (John 15:14)

  10. They were just securing their place in heaven. Its more important than Jesus (pbuh).

  11. he is the son of god every christian is his friend and me

  12. Actually, they didn't have any way of knowing about His divinity until after they were hanging out with Him, except for the later ones.

  13. Jesus had said:

"I say this unto you now. If you do not hate your parents, your friends, and your life, you cannot become my disciple."

    (Luke 14:26-33)

    He hated them all.

  14. There was the apostle whom Jesus loved, I believe that was John. I think maybe best friends!
