In a rare display of common sense, the Chicago City Council repealed what was perhaps one of the stupidest laws in the nation: The Foie Gras Ban.

Shockingly, even King Daley was on the right side of this one, at one point saying “the silliest thing the City Council has ever done.”

I whole heartedly agree. It's not because I have ever eaten foie gras. In fact, it doesn't look appetizing to me at all. However, I am very uncomfortable when governments, be it on a local, state or federal level, decide to oil the squeaky wheel by imposing a ban on the rest of us.

Now if we could only get hizoner to recognize the 2nd amendment of the Constitution of the United States...

Yes.  The City Council voted yesterday and the ban will be lifted in 30 days.
