  1. YES, life started as bacteria on an asteroid... probably fro Mars... thats why we are searching there to see if any of us were left behind when the originals left 3 billion yrs ago...


  2. Yes, it's possible, and has been investigated as a scientific hypothesis.  There certainly are moderately-complex organic compounds in space and in meteorites.

  3. This is one of the most likely situation for life on earth. This doesn't negate evolution. I believe that life was first introduced as bacteria into by asteroid or comet and then process of evolution took it from there.

  4. Anything is possible, but some things are more likely than others. The most likely explanation is that life originated right here on Earth, by  a process that is currently unknown, then evolved into the diversity of species observed today. The most that comets and asteroids are likely to have had to do with it is, they may have brought some of the organic materials to Earth from which life originated.
