No they get scholarships to play basketball and the good athletes get drafted out of their freshman year of college based on their KNOWLEDGE of basketball. Half of them cant read their contracts but they can play basketball.

Kevin Garnett did very bad on his SAT tests, that he could not get into college. I heard about this story one time. I believe it's true.

In one of the half time shows of a NBA game, one of the guys of TNT's half time show said that before Caron Butler made it into the NBA, his grades  were very poor he has been in jail more than 15 times.
