since Dec. i have only been with this one guy. I was pg up until july 1st and have just been diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum. its on my inner thigh. i looked it up. My bf swears he did not cheat on me but ive been hearing that hes been since we got together. I have not been with anyone else but him. i didnt see anything on him altho it seems like he has pimples on his thighs and buttocks like ingrown hairs most of the time. he also leaves me alot at least once or twice a week for cpl days at a time. does this sound like he gave this to me? I dont know what to think because when i looked it up it says it can come up on ur body 2 mths or 7 weeks after contracting it? help! im pretty messed up about this and dont know what to think

  1. Hello hon, I am a registered nurse...  although one way to contract molluscum is through sexual activity... there are other ways it is spread...  please go to the Centers for Disease Control website... I am going to post the link for you... It talks about what the virus is, how it's contracted, how you should care for your skin, and ways to avoid spreading it. It does usually clear up in 6 - 12 months.   But keep in mind, you should be screened for all other STDs if you think your boyfriend may have cheated. It's better safe than sorry.  If people are telling you that he's cheated...  I wouldn't turn a blind eye if you know what I mean... just beware!  be safe!  no s*x until the molluscum goes away... it can be spread to him and then spread back to you again.

    Good Luck

  2. Well, it seems this is not just limited to a sexually transmitted disease, although it does affect the genitals, lower abdomen, buttocks, and inner thighs, and is most often transmitted sexually in adults.

It also seems to be popular in small children and can be passed through direct contact AND through shared articles of clothing, so if you have been around small children, its possible they could have had it and passed it on.

  3.      In the first place this Molluscum Contagiosum is not only a std, it's also a simple skin disease among kids so, you'd better look it up again, it's a common skin disease, like ring worm or any other kind of skin disease that kids spread, so get your facts straight or you could lose a person to something that has a simple explanation. He could have got it from a young nephew or niece or some neighbor  kid in the playground.
