Mass 13 C divided Mass 12 C = 1. 086129

how is this possible? 13/12 = 1.083333333

  1. yes he made a mistake it is 1.083

    look at my link for mass of C13


  2. Possibly they are talking about the exact weight of each, but if 13C weighs 13.003355, dividing it by 12 gets 1.083613.

    Note that 1.086129 is 1.0836129 without the 3 in the thousandth position. Perhaps they did lose that digit?
