When i try to turn on my desktop, it starts up normally and then goes to the screen saying that a problem may have occured and it gives me an option like just start windows normally or enter safe mode etc. and it won't let me go to the main page to log in under my account b/c once i click on an option like start windows normally, it brings up the windows XP logo and resumes start up as normal but then it resets itself everytime! What do i do?

Also if i put the windows XP CD while it attempts to boot up, will it ask me if i want to reinstall XP? If it does, will it delete everything on my computer?

  1. just keep restarting the computer numerous times, over and over. i know it sounds wierd, but trust me it works. eventually it will load properly.

  2. jut choose the option boot normaly

  3. firstly your computer didnt crash its working fine

secondly, there is nothing unsual in getting the screen of the start windows normally or enter safe mode.. some alteration might have been there in the dll file.. but no need to panic.. everything is fine..

thridly, yes when you try to install the xp again it will give you option to format the system or leave the files.. if you choose format the system.. all the contents in the drive will be lost and a fresh copy of the xp is installed.

  4. maybe your computer can't handle your devices or softwares. try to uninstall some devices. and some softwares. use safe mode to logged in and uninstall what needs uninstalling. yes reinstalling xp will olve the problem. have other hdd to backup you're files..

by the way use safe mode to log in and back up.

ps: dont be upset about safemode cause is may start about 10mins depending on the situation. if it does'nt work. use other computer having no problem and have your hdd backup and reinstall.. and put your hdd back to your computer.
