Question:

Did my filling in the tooth cracked or is it just sore?

I was eating some pretzels (i always eat pretzels and this rarely happens to me) and I've bit on something hard. The pain was like sharp. It settled down and I decided to eat a peach. I chewed on that side to make sure I didn't do any damage and it's still a little sore. I checked the mirror and I notice that the fillings are still in tact. There was a little small line in the filling but it doesn't seem cracked. I've drunk some cold water and it didn't hurt. I hope I didn't crack the filling or something worse? If I eat soft foods, will that keep my fillins to last longer?

  1. Honestly best way to know is if you go to your dentist.

Do you have braces cause if you do then thats pretty normal happens all the time.

  2. I have had the same issue and after much exploring my dentist came to the conclusion that I had cracked the filling and/or tooth.  I grind my teeth bad and that is how we believe that I keep getting the problem.  I have one now.  Usually, if I ate on the other side of the mouth for about a month it would fill in but this latest one must be real bad.  I will have to get it drilled and refilled and hopefully I did not do much damage so that  I need it capped.

    God bless and good luck
