If my friend scored a score of 707 in Reading and a 673 in Math should she be worried about NOT passing the test (MOSTLY MATH)!

  1. YES YOU PASSED CONGRATS

  2. I give up - you have me completely confused.

FCAT scores are reported using both of two scoring scales, the "scale score" and the "developmental score". Developmental scores are supposedly useful in allowing parents and students to compare scores from year to year.

I'm confused because the "scale score" ranges from 100-500, and the developmental score ranges from 0 to 3000.

Therefore, the scores of 707 and 673 that you're asking about must be developmental scores, because they're both above 500, which is the max "scale score".

If these are, in fact, developmental scores, then these are both extremely low scores (remember the developmental scale goes up to 3000!)

A 10th grade reading score of 707 translates to a scale score of 75. The average scale score of all 10th graders who took the test was 306.

A 10th grade math score of 673 is the equivalent of a scale score of 4. The math section scale score average for 10th graders was 327.

    Friend's reading: 707.

    10th Grade Passing mark: 1926

    Friend's math: 673

    10th Grade Passing mark: 1889

I think you can see for yourself if your friend should worry about not passing the test.

  3. wat, you didn't pass the test?

no "your friend" did not pass the test.
