my pet corn snake recently started showing signs of pre shed (scales fading and eyes turning milky)on friday. I left on a trip for three days and when i came back home, my snakes eyes were no longer cloudy. so,thinking he shed, I started looking around the cage for his shed skin but i couldnt find any at all.He also wouldn't eat (and as we all know, they dont eat when they shed) has he shed? or does it take a while for them to eat after they have shed?

  1. I had a guarder he didn't eat a little while after he shedded unless if he was very hungry

  2. from personal experience, they usually are ready to eat right after shedding.  As far as the skin,  I really don't know.  I know they don't eat it.

  3. A lot of the time, my snakes eyes and skin clear up for a day or two before shedding. I hope this helps.

  4. If you haven't found the skin in the cage, then he hasn't shed yet.

It is normal for the eye scales to come off before the snake actually sheds everything else.

  5. After the milky stage the eyes will return to looking clear again just before the actual shed. That should happen in the next day or two.
