  1. No. where?

  2. yes.  I live about 45 miles from the epicenter.  We felt the one this morning as well as the big aftershock around 10.

  3. Yes, I live in Northern-West Michigan and I felt it.

  4. I live in St. Louis, and I felt it at 4:30 this morning (5.2 magnitude), and then an aftershock at 10:15 (4.5 magnitude).

It's all anyone can talk about.  I guess it's no big deal to me since I lived in California, but it's all over every channel on TV, on all the news stations' websites, and all my friends and co-workers are talking about it.

  5. I did because I am in St. Louis also! :)

  6. Yes, I live near Effingham, IL and I felt my whole trailer shaking...I have to back up to tell you what happened before this though.

About three weeks ago my trailer fell off of its foundation because of the huge amounts of rain...it felt like an earthquake when it fell. The whole trailer shook and then it fell forward about three feet.

So a little before five this morning I was awakened to the same thing again...the shaking but my trailer didn't fall forward. I realized it must not be the same thing again. Then my sister-in-law (who lives about a mile away from me) called me to let me know that it was an earthquake and my trailer hadn't fallen again!! She knew what I was thinking.

I'm sure that there are many stories out there...

My mom thought the puppy was scratching and shaking her bed...she just moved over away from the "puppy" and it stopped shaking her.

    Anyway that's what we thought...for a good laugh...for what it's worth.

  7. Yes, felt it here in Freeport, IL

  8. Sure Did! It woke me up! The bed was shaking, the windows rattling, the dishes rattling. It was awful, and it felt like forever! I went to grab my baby boy (he sleeps with us) and head to the bathroom, but my husband said for us three to just stay in bed because we were in the safets location of the house (We have one story, and this house is very old, and our bedroom was the only room re-inforced from underneath i guess, plus nothing on the walls) my husband just held us until it was over. Very scary, but I didn't feel the after shocks. I hope it doesn't happen again. Thank God no one was hurt. We live in Ky, we felt it around 4:30 A.M. I believe. I was really scared, I knew it was an earth quake, Only because I remember reading the night before about some earth quake prediction in Cali, so that was my first assumption. My parents who live 20 min. from me thought it was a tornado (We get those a lot) and their house shakes during strong windy storms as well. They ran to the basement until they realized it completely stopped. They felt the after shocks.

  9. I woke up in the middle of the night and the bed was moving. I live in Chicago and thought nothing of it, other than I must be imagining it! Then I listened to the radio this morning and they said there was a quake in Southern Illinois. Never would have thought. I just asked this question as well, wondering what the cause of it was. Weird huh!

  10. I felt it and I live in southeast Iowa.

  11. i heard about it and everyone around me felt it but i was sleeping when the earth quake happened and then i watched on tv about i stayed up for about 4 hours and my husband left for work and i fell asleep when baby took her nap and he called around 10 and said he felt the aftershock but i didnt and the weird thing is he said it was strong but nothing in my house has been shook or moved or anything i prop my broom up next to the door and i thought as strong as he said it was i thought the broom would fall but it didnt i mean if we open a door the broom falls it weird that it wouldnt fall if the house was shaking dont cha think but i also have glass things sitting around on the egde of the counter and nothings been broken or moved but my sister felt it and we live like to houses down from each other how weird is itr she felt it and things fell at her house but not mine

  12. I live about 20 mins away from where the epicenter was of the 5.2 one around 4:30am, we had 3 aftershocks until 7am and then at about 10:15am we had a 4.6 "aftershock" but the epicemter was in a different location, that one was about 10 mins away from me.  The first one shook for about 22 seconds. Things fell off the walls, the kids were scared to death and didn't want to go back to sleep but other than a busted water main in town (I live in the country) no major damage, thank goodness. They said it was felt as far away as Chicago, IL., IN, WI. KY, TN . My dad lives by St Louis and he called this morning, he felt it at work ( in St Charles)

  13. I sure did!!

I am near St. Louis (on the Illinois side)

and it jarred me and my boyfriend out of sleep this morning!!

I have never experienced an earthquake before..I am from PA and just moved out here a few months ago.

Anyway, I also felt the aftershock at 10:20 or so. I was home alone when that happened and called my boyfriend right away!!

All I can say is...it made all the walls creek in our apartment and our bed was shaking!!

    SO WEIRD!
