  1. 'Attention to small details', is a virtue in many fields, esp. the military areas! There is almost no factor, which is not important and can be 'ignored'!


  2. the question is not how simple a system is, but can it survive in a war

    of course a simple system is more reliable and can be "online" more often. However it counts for nothing if it cannot survive in combat

    the Oberons were OK (though not the best) - in their time. Today they would probably last 20 minutes- and that's against the Burmese "navy"

    The Collins should- if they work as advertised- survive against the best. And probably be able to "bite" back. The problems thay have seem to be "teething" problems- common in every new technology. Time will tell if they outgrow them.
