  1. No. The English used in the King James Bible was a little out of date, and much more formal than the everyday spoken language in the 17th century. It was written in a flowing prose, especially for the purpose of the feeling of something precious and highly spiritual when reading it.

    Below is a link to an example of common English in the early 17th century. LOL...its a cookbook.....it may help to see the differences between the way the instructions are written for the common housewife and the way the language of the King James Bible reads.


  2. No.  The commission of scholars that translated the Bible chose to use slightly archaic English so that it would not sound like everyday discourse.
