Did purchasing a water fountain really encourage your cat to drink more water?

Cats love running water, versus standing water.  All five of my cats love to drink areated water.  I have an indoor water fountain, and I also have one outside that is both for decoration and cat drinking.  Here in SC it gets very hot and this , I think, helps my cats stay more hydrated.

Yes.

My cat used to knock over his water dish and play with it and get water everywhere. Now he loves water. He loves to lay beside the fountain and dip his paw in and l**k it off. And he likes drink the water straight from the fountain part.

We used to be concerned for my kitten that he didn't drink anything and now we are filling the big fountain up all of the time.

I found your Q.  I don't know the answer but I too would like to know, cause I have a cat that thinks the only way he can drink water is by letting it run off the top of his head in the bathroom sink.

It might be cool just to have one anyways.  My cat drinks out of the bathtub . . .  He's weird, he totally ignores his water dish.
