taylor was beating chavez by points, but not physically. taylor face was banged up, where as chavez didn't really feel the punches. chavez was really beating him physically. but i think steele made a bad decision. why would you stop the fight with just two seconds left. taylor would have won by close decision. he showed a lot of heart. i recommend you see HBO Tale Legenday Nights Chavez Taylor, or the full fight in Youtube.

  1. I nearly popped a blood vessel in my brain when I saw that.  Taylor said "yes" when asked to continue, Steele saw the 10 second warning light and waved off the fight.  Taylor gutted out a huge victory, only to have Steele take it away.  Taylor is punch drunk now and in bad shape.  Because of Steele, he can't look at that fight and say "Look at what I accomplished."  Took away Meldrick Taylor's biggest moment of his life for the sake of boxing politics.  Shameful.

  2. i think he did a good stoppage because taylor hadn't respond when he says to him are you okay, are you okay, he ask him twice and he didint' respond, you can see the figth here  Chavez VS Taylor HBO Legendary Nights Pt. 1

  3. steele made the right choice that night.

while taylor was outpunching chaves 3 to 1, chavez was landing the harder punches and taylor:

    had broken ribs

swallowed 2 or 3 pints of blood

    had gashes inside his mouth

also duva told him he needed the last round to win.

  4. yes, taylor was a beaten man anywyas, just look at the damage chavez gave him.

  5. The ref made a smart boxing decision because saw that Taylor was not able to continue. It started with a wobble that started with right from Chavez, then he eventually knocked him out. The ref did not pay attention to time, because if he did and there was more time, the boxer would have been injured. Anyways, Taylor had his chance for redemption and got beat down by Chavez again.

  6. Yes, the fight was stopped early. I feel both fighters could have kept going. Richard Steele is a great ref. and i think this  is one of the only fights that he didn't make the correct decision. I feel chavez would have won by K.O. or T.K.O. But then again it's just my opinion. Good luck.

  7. yes, because if he wouldnt of stop the fight then chavez would have gotten robbed!!!! most dumb mother f*ckers here believe every f*cking thing leaderman, lampley, merchant say!!! Taylor dominated from the penning round!!!?!?! wtf!!?! NO!! f*ck NO!!! watch the whole fight again, this time mute that fight and ignore ledermans fight card.

  8. Yes i do taylor was jacked up. i dont know but have you seen taylor lately. i think chavez was just braking his face and body.
