  1. No. I knew a couple guys in college who played A or AA in their little leage days, and now they play pro.

  2. ya for sure surprisingly ed jovanoski didnt play hockey until he was 12.

  3. I played AAA, and I'm not pro yet, too young, but a friend of mine, a defencement, never played AAA, he played for the first time when he was 16...and he just signed this year with Dallas for a 3 year deal I think, and he was seen as the best player outside of the NHL...so you can be a Pro without playing AAA

it's all about mental, and what you are willing to do to get where you want to be.

  4. There were players like Geoff Sanderson who never played above A because where he grew up didn't have the population size to be above that.

The Detroit Red Wings today announced the signing of AHL: all-star and career playoff goal leader Darren Haydar, Haydar grew up in Milton, Ontario which is an AA town (although as Canada's fastest growing community it may become AAA soon) and eventually played Tier 2 Junior A there before going to the NCAA.  No AAA for him

NHL Hall of Famers Bobby Orr and Bobby Hull also only played A level before junior.

  5. #90 don't make **** up, dallas signed no one who started playing hockey at 16 and is considered the best player outside of the nhl.  ALL the highest rated players outside of the NHL are playing the RSL so unless your friend lives in moscow i think your talking out your ***.

And AAA isn't the the best league.  One kid from AAA got drafted in last years NHL draft but 10 kids from minnesota high school hockey did.

Not to mention over 25 in the first two rounds of the last 4 drafts.

Thats over 6 players being drafted in the top 2 rounds every year.

Don't think AAA is the only way to go, it's not even the best way to go.

  6. no not all of them.

and besides normally theyed start out at house league and work their way up  AAA it took me 3 years

  7. shoot there were a handfull of players that didnt even play ice hockey until high school.  This could be a who am i?? A great player that played for the blues that had only played in line hockey until college, then switched to ice hockey in juniors and got drafted
