Why all the contaminated tomatoes all of a sudden, and in so many states? What's with that? What theories would you propose, as to the source and origin of this taint?

  1. Several sources to consider mostly going back to sewage.

Could be some spill over from a septic system.

Did you know that City sewage treatment systems have gunk build up several feet thick that has to be gotten rid of? They pay farmers to spread it out over the fields.

In Indiana we are big antibiotic producers by a process of fermentation. Those vats of spent nutrients are mixed with ash from power plants (rich in arsenic and other heavy metals) and then spread over farm lands.

The irony is that the ash was once considered a toxic hazard, but some university does a study to show the stuff can help crops grow and its called a 'win-win' situation. This is how our corporate controlled Western Universities operate. I am not certain, but I suspect that antibiotic resistant bacteria are building up in those fields.

  2. If it were e coli, you might be onto something, but it is salmonella.
