I saw something with two contrails in an apparently "vertical" trajectory. Did anyone else see this? I kept watching it go up, then basically lost sight of it. Anyone know what it was? Thanks.

  1. Nothing ever (as far as I know) launches from Houston.

Command and Control is located there. The launch site is in Florida for safety reasons. They launch over the ocean to avoid debris falling in the case of a launch failure. Both the Air Forcee and NASA launch using Canaveral and Patrick(i think) located in Central East Coast of Florida.

  2. The only reported launch on 17 August was an Iranian rocket containing a dummy satellite.

Exact time and trajectory unknown, but seems unlikely this would have been what you saw.

  3. no, since nothing launches out of houston.
