  1. Not exactly PART... I strongly recommend that you read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangea

  2. Yes in the Pangea it was one continent

  3. yes, is pangea

    millions of years ago

  4. millions of years ago there was only one land mass

  5. yes, a few hundred million years ago. part of a landmass known as gondwanaland, part of pangea after it split up. try wikipedia

  6. It is important to remember that Pangea is a theory.  Who was alive 225 million years ago to verify this seperation of landmass?  I always wondered how scientist had the audacity to make something 225 million years old anyway.

  7. No silly, of course it didn't! Many millions of years ago, the two continents were part of the same landmass, at a time when most of the continents were joined.  But way, way before you or I were born, that vast landmass broke apart, and ended up in their present configuration.  All this happened way before people appeared, so even my granddad cannot remember it!

  8. well according to scientific research there is a possibility that

yes south America could have been connected to Africa

  9. At one time, there was only one very large landmass called Pangea (225 million years ago). Over time, this landmass began to break apart due to the plates shifing and moving around. One of the breaks separated into 2 pieces and slowly the two pieces dirfted apart. The west piece became known as South America and the eastern section is now Africa.

This entire theory is called Continental Drift. Here is a site that has 5 maps (diagrams) showing Pangea and how the gigantic landmass broke apart to the present day continents.
