Would you like to travel there as a result? Or maybe avoid it. Do you appreciate the country's beauty or do you think "ugh I wouldn't touch that polluted h**l hole in a million years" Good or bad, lets hear what you have to say

  1. Well I do love the culture of China, Communism aside, and would still like to visit. However, after the Olympics, it only proved that propaganda is more rampant and whatever is publicly told,  is probably inaccurate and has more to it, that and the harsh methods to control the population are still in place.

EDIT: I really don't think you T.D. ppl know anything about

Communism, One Party Systems, or how Chinese officials "present" to the world.

  2. Well, considering that random killing during the Olympics I think I'll just stick with my National Geographic.

  3. What is there to change? The communist party tried the best of propoganda, in an effort to project a clean image before the world, but I have not fallen for the c**p. Government aside, I liked the people before and still do. I think China will be better off without the communist party. Maybe someday we will see this miracle happen.

  4. Olympics or no Olympic, my view of China remains unchanged.  In fact, it further showed that China is capable of "cheating" even more on international scale just to look good to the world!!  Look no further than the fireworks display, the little "cute" girl who sang" and the age of some Chinese gymnasts.

Yes, the ceremony was great but totally proud?

  5. Chinese, The Most Envied Race/Civilization

huge land, a pure race, culturely, great economy, great technology, strong military and nukes, most thoughtful leaders, independent political system, physically superior(olympics), superpower

the huge land and pure race combination is enough. mutts (americans), and losers from failed races/civilizations(small countries) envy the pure and mighty Chinese race

  6. The Olympics didn't change my views, only because my views on China has always been an informed one, coming from first hand experience when I lived there for over three years.  I knew that China has its good side, and not so good side.  It's both modern and conservative.  It is proud and yet reserved.  It is hard and soft.  It is clean and not so clean.

  7. my attitude to China didn't change -- i love it just the same

    :D

  8. The Olympics ceremony and setup was nothing but a big show.  Regardless, the country and her people are wonderful.  I love everything about China except for the government and what they represent.  After seeing the Olympics, I want to go back and see the Birds Nest (National Stadium).  Overall, I don't see China as the superpower that it tried to represent.  People still make fifty cents to the hour and the poor have no rights whatsoever.

  9. nope. i hated china before the olympics and i still do. I must admit they did do a great job in the opening cermony.... but imagine all of the people they had to shut out of it... the hobos... the girl that sang that beautiful song and had to be replaced becuase she didn't look good enough.

yeah... its still the same china for me...

  10. Absolutely. I'm Korean-Chinese and i've lived in Singapore for all of my life. Because of China's poor quality control and such, i've always been skeptical about China's abilities. But the Olypmics have shut my mouth up for good. It made me so proud to have Chinese blood. All the way China! (:
