  1. Just wanted to add a couple of things:

    What omar said is right.

However Honduras has nothing to do with belize. Honduras was never a colony of the britsh, it just so happens that the britton named belize as british honduras.

And they werent stolen from mexico but from spain!

  2. Because Belize did not have much to offer the Spanish. The British took it from the Spanish. The controversy in the area is between Guatemala and Belize. Not Mexico

  3. Indeed yes!British Honduras was the former name of a British colony on the east coast of Central America just to the south-east of Mexico, now the independent nation of Belize. Settled by Europeans since the 17th century, it was a crown colony from 1862 through 1964, when it became self-governing.

  4. Didn't the Spanish steal Mexico from the Indians?

  5. The Spanish claimed sovereignty over the area that is now Belize and fought British settlements there but never actually settled the area themselves.

You could argue that the British took the area from local Mayan tribes, or possibly that they took it from the Spanish but not from Mexico.
