I think that is a bit harsh for an in house fight...............Now the fans are punished as well as the rest of the team.

  1. He's had temper problems in the past. I think they were right to suspend him for two games - it's not good when you get in a fight with a teammate.

  2. No.

Steve Smith is a bully. He needs to learn that the organization and people in it do not revolve around him. He works for the Panthers, they do not work for him. Maybe he can sit at home and figure that out.

  3. yea that was stupid....most fans come out to see him play the most. they must not want to win

  4. no way

  5. I think the team is making a example out of him,I hope it don't backfire on them.

  6. Its not like its the 1st time he has been in a fight with his teammates.  They weren't even playing when it happened either time.  Dude has some anger issues.

He needs to learn.  You don't want anyone to get hurt but losing someone to a fight in practice is unacceptable.  He could have done more serious damage than he did.  A few years ago Bill Romanowski (sp?) beat up a teammate bad enough the guy couldn't play, was cut, and never played again.

  7. just because hes good doesnt mean he gets an free pass

  8. I hate to say it but he deserves it ! I am as big a Panthers fan as anybody but they can't let that keep happining. He could kill the moral for the whole team with such antics. Like Jake Delhomme said in an interview " I looked at the whole schedule and we don't play Carolina all season." Unfortunatly they usually lose a few games because of themselves.  Hope things get straightened out !

  9. No. These players have to realize that they are not in control of the team. They think that they can do what ever they want and get away with it. And then they think that because they are big stars that it is even easier to get away with it. This is what the team needs to show that the ower, gm and coach are the ones that call the shots not the players.

  10. It depends, we as fans really have no details on what went down. We dont even know who started the fight but we know smith finished it. I think Fox wants to keep it fair on his team. Eventhough smith is the star player, he wants to show he has no favortism. I do think 2 games is a tab bit harsh because they need him but you got to look at it among the lines of what if it was someone else. ya know. Plus the media is going to be living in Panther camp just to stay tuned on smith and lucas. I just think Carolina wanted to hurry up and put this behind him. and maybe send a message to steve smith that he needs to learn to keep his cool.

  11. Yeah 2 games is good, he is suppose to be there leader and show an example. Fighting is just setting a bad example for the team and the rest of the world.

  12. No way His done it before

  13. No. This isn't his first time. Maybe this will be a lesson to him. Teams have got to quit coddling these players.

  14. Yeah.  I think that was a little too much.  And nobody can say that they can win without him because that's a d**n lie lol

  15. No. The team needed to suspend him or players on the team would start to think they could get away with anything. Smith probably could have been suspended longer. This isn't the first time he's done this.

  16. Well his last one game suspension didn't work.  So, no, of course not.
