I don't know how you can question the Chinese and their honesty.  These people truly care about children and try their best to ensure they are employed from age 10 and have toys whose paint doesn't chip by adding lead.  They even care enough about their children's welfare that they do not let the ugly ones be seen on television.

Chances are, probably.

But because of the political system in China, they can issue them birth certificates that say that they are much older than they are.

Feasibly, no one will ever be able to prove that they are younger than 16. So the chances of China having their medals stripped is very unlikely.

another ugly plot to discredit the chinese. the rest of the people should really come up with something new. there isn't even much hulabaloo over this because it's 95% unlikely. if you don't konw anything about chinese history, then you have no right to comment because the chinese are very prideful people. believe me,they won't do such a thing. if not they're just digging their own grave. that'll be extremely dumb.

Why don't ask the CNN or BCC to do some "investigation". I know (we all know) they are good at that. Can do it later after the game. Try to pretend as a normal tourist, bring along hidden camera plus voice recorder, go to those girls' hometown, and try to talk to their friends / families etc..... and see if can find out the true age.

Remember, talking bad about someone without solid evident = malicious action = immoral.

Btw, is there a age limit in order to enter the competition ? Isn't anyone can take part as long as you are good enuff ?

I've seen a doc about China gym team. They trained the children from 4 yrs old. Just ask the expert, how long it takes to get to that standard. If 10 yrs, then, 10+4=14yrs old.

I personally have no doubt about the china team(s). I believe anyone can take the competition regardless of age/race. As long as they are up to the standard.

Ignore the comments about anti-Chinese sentiment above, because the reality is that in China one can have a birth date recorded on their birth certificate that is not their real birth date.

Why?  Because the system of registering births was not as well controlled and regulated as it is today.  If you look at old graves in western countries then you will notice that many don't have the date of birth for this very reason.

Hence often the birth date that was registered is based on what the parent says it is when they register the child with their local authority.

So yes the girls could be younger than what is registered but equally they could be older than what is registered as is the case with my wife!

Take a look at them and see for yourself. They are beautiful young girls. No one can blame them. But their coaches and others higher up need to be held to the same standards as anyone else who breaks the rules.
