I'd have to say yes! Even at this stage of Manny's career he is still a major force at the plate. The Dodgers pretty much just won the division today. I'm not completely up on the Dodgers as I'm in Florida but from what I've researched it does look like Torre has used LaRouche a great deal. I could be wrong however. At any rate this wasn't just a steal by the Dodgers, it was a major hold up!!!

This is the best thing the dodgers could have done for now especially nearing the end of the season and just 1 game behind the diamondbacks. La Roche is in a slump and wasnt helping the dodgers whatsoever, not to mention andrew jones . Personally I think this was a great move they didnt give up anything special or money for a great player like Manny. Hopefully he'll help the Dodgers go to the world series.

No, the Dodgers are the losers in this trade.

Even if they win the division this year, they aren't winning the world series. Manny is getting older and may not even be on the team next year. They gave up a few minor league players including Adam Laroche who is a future all star.

They also gave up a pitcher who was coming off of Tommy John surgery. Honestly I donÃƒÂ¢Ã‚Â€Ã‚Â™t know who though... I read on the Dodger message board that he figured to be a middle reliever.

Hopefully he will help the Dodgers out. Joe Cool should be able to fix the attitude at least some. Kent was all disgruntled last year and he seems to be fine under Joe this year.

Congrats Ned, now all Dodger fan don't hate you anymore, lol.

they got what they needed, and the pirates got what they needed. Dodgers are still in the race, so they needed help this year, with a bat so they got manny. They pirates are out of it, so they are looking towards the future by picking up some minor leaguers. And the red sox got what they wanted by getting rid of some baggage.

On paper it looks like a really good deal, but we have to see what happens....manny is a great hitter and will improve the line up greatly or he can disturb the club house and kill the dodgers playoff hopes.....
