Did the Dog just win a bet?

Question

O.K so say a pack of dogs are gathered around a trashcan each minding their own business and chewing their own share of trash. When suddenly one of them just sprints through a group of dog catchers (not a work, just taking a break), goes back to the trashcan and now he's chewing on the ENTIRE trash while the other dogs back off

Would you say he just won a bet ?

Was that just a weird coincidence ?

ummm...I think the dogs were scared cause' he wasn't afraid of the dog catchers
