Did the Lakers overpay to keep Sasha Vujacic?

I think he's okay off the bench but worth paying him so much? I have noticed that even though he plays tough defense he is not that athletic and gets beat off the dribble by quicker players. I mean he is a good shooter sometimes but also very streaky. Was this a good signing for the Lakers at 3 years 15 mil?

i hated sasha the first 2 years but this year i have to admit it, if they let him go... they actually need him. his confidence is finally thru the roof and his stats are all career highs. They really do have nobody else to back up kobe at this moment either and he's there only pure shooter out there.

I think 5mill a year for someone who has the potential to become a good shooter thats a bench player is a bit over kill.  They should have resigned turiaf and let sasha go.

yes, Sasha is a great oustide shooter and has more confidence and killer instinct than Lamar Odom, but he lacks in every other skill.  I can't tell you how frightening it is to see him dribble the ball down the court or try  to pass the ball.  When he is in a position when he has to dribble, he get the ball stolen, when he has to play the pg type roll, he commits the turnover.  The only thing he is good at is standing on the 3 point line waiting to hit the shot.

Obviously Lakers are panicked by Childress decision to Olympiakos. However, they are still smart enough for offering Vujacic a 3-year contract only, but it is a little expensive.

I believe Kobe could be a factor striking the deal since he has good faith on Vujacic, and Lakers try to retain Vujacic to please Kobe again.

My view on Vujacic remains unchanged that he is a good backup, yet I would say JR Smith is a better pickup. A bold prediction is that Odom or Walton could be a lock for trade in near term and they need a player with good understanding on triangle offense to take the rotation minutes.

Maybe Lakers would regret on placing a gigantic bet on the not-so-much upside of Vujacic.

Oh h**l yeah I hate him so much. He can't even dribble good. Remember when Ray Allen owned him in an isolation play and it sealed a game. Yeah I wouldn't want him on my team for 5 bucks let alone 15 million are you kidding me.

Sasha is a young player; he will probably overcome his streaky shooting, and become more consistent.

The key is his defense and determination; if he can improve his ball handling and inconsistent outside shot, he will not only be an excellent back-up shooting guard, but a good starter when Kobe retires.

The Lakers have made an investment towards their future.

NBA salaries are pretty outrageous.  It's not unusual for a sixth man to be paid 5 million a year.  His new salary is just a smidgen above Derek Fisher and Luke Walton.

Yea they overpayed, but then again 50 dollars would have been overpayed.  Vujacic sucks some serious donkey balls he doesn't belong on the Lakers roster.
