Question:

Did the Penguins coach and Crosby commit the cardinal sin???

In the press conferences, all Therrien and Crosby did was talk about how the Wings were "obstructing" and Osgood was "diving". Seems to me you really need to be concentrating on your own team. As far as Osgood diving... I will say this again... ALL GOALIES TRY TO DRAW PENALTIES, there is no doubt that Malone and Sykora could have avoided contact. But let us ask the Pens about Fleury... TWICE as the Wings tried to skate by him he stuck his *** out to try to obstruct them. STOP FRICKIN WHINING YOU LITTLE BI#CHES. Is this the only way to beat the Wings??? Every team does this when they lose to the Wings. That is because they are dang good and frustrating to play against. Another thing teams do is CHEAP SHOTS. Two cheap shots to the head of Franzen. Why don't you concentrate on playing hockey, Detroit is a team full of professionals, they won't get sucked in to your bs. They just won't. If the Wings had guys taking shots to the head like that, they would be benched.

  1. I just find it odd that Cindy actually refered to another player as a diver. Thats like me calling some one an a*****e, because like Crosby is clearly a diver, I am clearly an a*****e.

  2. I saw very little of either game, I had to work. But from what I saw in the second game it  was ridiculous. The Penguins most definately took cheap shots at the Wings. In return a supposed hall of fame goalie, who by the way is on the best team in the NHL, according to Redwing fans took dives, more than once. Also, these wonderful players obstructed the opposing goalie, which by the way is illegal and was not called. These are supposed to be the two best teams in the NHL with the most talent.  If Detroit is so professional they would not have to resort to these tactics.

  3. yup.. they are really frustrated at this point and they really need to focus on their game and try and figure out what will work against the wings.

i wasnt expecting this series to be so easy.. i wanted a hard fought series between these two teams. i guess it just shows that the West is harder to play against than the East.

  4. It shows the Penguins have been pounding the panic button and nothing is lighting up, especially the Detroit goal.

They're being schooled by veterans, the same way the cocky young Red Wings of 1995 got schooled by the Devils. The frustration is evident. Therrien is losing his grip, Crosby wants to cry in Mommy's arms, and Gary Roberts may be suspended by tomorrow.

I may have the thrill of watching the Cup presented to Lidstrom on Mellon's ice this Saturday. That would be sweet indeed after Robert's cheap shot. Not quite Claude Lemieux lowness, but still very low. Be a man, Gary.

Therrien may have to play that glacial Georges Laraque on Wednesday after some reviews. Heck, we may see two Pens suspended for the headhunting on Franzen.

  5. Get him a maxi and some Midol.  The Pens simply got outplayed. Hopefully the zebras don't fall for such a desperate ploy.

  6. Some kids these days have an overblown sense of entitlement.

  7. The penguins tried to harm tonight.......If they put as much effort into playing the game they may have won.

  8. exactly and with the goalie thing nobody should go after a goalie no matter what it is dirty and unclassy

  9. Just adding fuel to the fire.

  10. I dont like to complain, but that head hunting was kind of screwed up.  Its one thing to go after someones legs if you know they have a bum knee, but intentionaly trying to give someone a concussion is crazy.  Nobody should pretend like they werent trying to do that either.  Franzen comes back from "concussion like symptoms" and they start beating him in the head.  They are litterally trying to damage the mans brain on those plays.

  11. I'm nowhere near being religious so I have no clue what a cardinal sin is. But they were being hypocrites so if they wanted to embarrass themselves on national television, let them.

  12. Crosby complaining about someone else diving is like a black guy calling another black guy the 'N' word.

  13. Dewman, you hit the proverbial nail on the head, kind of like the dirty shot from Roberts on Franzen. It's called losing, losing it, frustration, and sadly not being able to compete against the "big dogs". I answered so many line up questions re: NO matter how many, or whatever changes are made to there suspect line-up, THEY WON'T HELP!

NIPS, Detroit learned that in '95, my friend! Same type of series, only Pitt is Det.

  14. The Pens are the number one team that cant complain about officials.

It's obvious the NHL/Bettman would LOVE the pens to win so they can show Crosby's face all over holding the cup.

If they lose, they can only blame themselves.

  15. I'm dating myself, in admitting I've been watching hockey this long. does anyone else remember a series with the avalanche when Lemieux took a cheap shot at Draper early in the series, and spent the rest of the series getting their a$$es kicked? I bet the Pens learn the same lesson that the Av's did then. It does not pay to pi$$ off the Wings.  Right now, the Wings are proving themselves the team to beat, and so far Pitt is not up to the task. If they want to beat the Wings, they're going to have to play playoff quality hockey. so far they aren't.  as far as Ozzie diving, keep your hands off the goalie and you wont have to worry about wether or not they dive.  Seems like the Pens are going with the "if you cant beat them hurt them" attitude, and all that will get them is their a$$es kicked in the long run.

  16. Well, Osgood has taken at least 2 dives already in this series and nothing has been called, so they are correct there.  You need to wise up and quit being such a little t**d.

  17. the pens are young and dont know what the right things to say in interviews yet. and yea, ozzy did dive but he was bumped, especially on the one late in the game

  18. I think it's pretty low class to blame a loss on the other teams antics. If Detroit was committing penalties routinely, the refs would call it. Crosby is the last person that should complain about diving. As the NHL's goldenboy, nobody can touch him. The Wing's are up 2-0 because they're a great hockey team, not because they cheat. The Pens are just frustrated, and it's the fault of leadership, hence the poor comments.

  19. very interesting. the two mindsets are like night and day.

  20. I gotta be honest, I didn't read any of that.

Judging by what the guy above me said, though, I assume you're talking about the Osgood incident. All goalies dive, because its easier for them to draw a penalty. Even if Osgood hadn't dived, Sykora would have gotten called, he ran right into him!

  21. The only cardinal sin I think the coach did was appear to be defeated in the post game press confrence.   That can't be good for moral of the younger players.

  22. It's a beautiful thing to see their true colors shining through.

I wanted this to be a nice tight exciting series but judging by the way the Penguins are playing/acting I'm switching to hoping for 4 consecutive shutouts.

    GO WINGS!

  23. NO! You got to lose one one to win one! HANDS DOWN! PITT is at school... SID who?

The truth is what it is....  they will win many.... just not this year! DET was built to be the last man standing! PITT was built to score. Doesnt work! PItt has no defense, and DET is exposing that!

  24. Hi,

    agreed.

imagine them complaining about dives.  ain't that the pot calling the kettle black.

i watched my Rangers go down to plenty of bad calls, and, ok, mediocre playing, but still, the bad calls were infuriating, crosby always got the benefit of the dive.  but, did Renney whine and cry?  no, he tactfully dodged the instigative questions from reporters, accepted reality, and planned to try to win the next game.  he showed class, as did the whole team.

it is bs, stop being sore losers and learn how to play.  the Wings are a phenomenal team, and always have been, which is one of the reasons i root for them every year, especially after my Rangers are eliminated.  they play hard and well, that's why they win, not by cheap c**p and bs calls.

    GO WINGS!!

  25. i mean, at a press conference there's usually questions being asked.. so i'm pretty sure they had a good reason to be talking about osgood... there were probably brought up about him.
