  1. They are 3 behind the Rays and play them 6 more times...Most of their games are at home.  They will win the AL East...Newsflash to dissillusioned Yankees fan.  How many championships have they won this millenium?  In your lifetime?  When will they win again?  Not soon.  They suck, they have awful management, butcher their farm system and over pay washed up veterans.  The Sox have a twenty something GM mopping the floor with them for the lat 5 years so spare us the history of the Yankees...because thats all they have to embrace is history, not now or tomorrow.

  2. Have you seen Tampa play all year. They're pretty deserving of winning that division. You guys are the ones who got rid of the best hitter in baseball. Manny!!!!!   Stupid move, seriously.

  3. Depends on one's perspective.

If one has been a fan since way back around, oh, 2004, and personal fan history suggests that the Red Sox win championships on a frequent basis, well, yeah, the 2008 season might look a bit disappointing.

However, if one is a fan of several decades' standing, and has seen REAL bad times in Fenway, one understands that this spate of recent seasons, with postseason berths and (yes, delightful) two titles,is a very joyful but merely leavening period.

The Red Sox are deeply in contention for another October extension. This is not to be frowned upon except by the shallowest of fair-weather fen.

  4. they made the playoffs in 2003 with wild card

they made the playoffs in 2004 with wild card

they made the playoffs in 2007 winiing al east.

whats the problem with the wild card?

  5. I don't think it was the Red Sox having an off year, it was just the Rays having a great one.

  6. An off year? So what if it's the wild card? It still gets them to the playoffs, and that's all that matters! That's why I like the wild card, it gives teams who are doing well, but not well enough due to even better teams in their divisions, a chance to make it to the playoffs. I wouldn't be complaining about the Red Sox.

  7. They made the playoffs and thats all that counts.

  8. when did the redsox ever won the division by more them 5 games 15years ago. cuzz the yankees won it almost every year since joe torre was the manager. they only won the division 2 since 2000 and by 2 games or less yankees are having a bad year the usually beat everybody in the al east by 15games in 2001,by 11games in 2002,by 6games in 2003,by 4 in 04 the redsoxs won WS in like 4ever,by 1 game in 05,by 10 in 06, and 07 redsoxs win by 2. so u do the math who is having a bad year

  9. how soon we forget how inept they used to be. Just be happy their invited to the party, but the invitation hasn't been sent yet.

  10. No.  Hard to say any team that is 25 games over ,500 is having a bad year.

Its just that the Rays are having a great season.  If not for them, the Red Sox would be in first rite now.  Cmon, the Rays have the best record in the MLB.
