Question:

Did the Romanov Family (Anastasia Romanov) live in The Alexander Palace? or The Plaza Roja, in Moscow?

I was on google earth, and i was looking up Anastasia'a home, but 2 places came up one in Moscow one in England..but on wiki searches it says she lived in the Alexander Palace in England but she grew up in Russia...it doesn't make sense. i want to know because i'm fasinated by the Tragic story and i'm going to Russia to Vacate! but i'm visiting all the Historic sites eg. Where the family is buried, Where they were killed....and i want to visit where she lived but i don't know where that is i think it's the Red Square..but please help me!!

  1. Traditionally, as far as I remember, Russian royals resided in Winter Palace (Zimniy dvorec) in St. Petersburg. Red Square (Plaza Roja=Krasnaya Ploshad') was not the area of residence for the royals, since Peter the great moved Russia's capital to St. Petersburg. But you should visit it anyway as it is the country's major attraction and gathers most known Russian architectural masterpieces (the Kremlin and the St. Vasil's cathedral).

    The royals' "vacation home" was Livadia palace in Crimea, I believe.
