The US didn't play ugly, they played tough...The Guatemalans played like a bunch of thugs, because they knew that the US is the better team technically.  So they tried to knock the Americans off their game.  The US played smart, and kept possession as much as they could, and scored a  vital goal when they needed it, and got out of there with the first win in 20 years.  That's smart football!  It may seem ugly at times, but that's exactly what the Guatemalans wanted.   But, the US didn't let their thug tactics stop them from doing what they needed to do, win.
