  2. I doubt it ... I read somewhere ages ago that you can't use sea sand in construction because the salt prevents the concrete from setting properly

  3. probably not, the victorians mainly used a basic cement mixture with horse hair in the consruction of buildings

  4. Hi!! the answer is no because the sand  is much too fine and soft for such construction work. This i can tell you, that whatever they used, the buildings have stood  the test of time because they are still very fine terraced houses along the Esplanade. Weymouth itself though is like an outdoor museum in one sense because half is Georgi-en from the King` Statue, and the other half is Victorian.

    It`s a wonderful place for children to come on holiday because the beaches are clean and safe for paddlig and swimming with a very shallow tidal movement.

    Another big plus is, there is so much going on in the way of entertainment on the beach for free.
