Did the Wimbledon ball boys ever use landing nets instead of grabbing the balls by hand?

Maybe i just dreamed it, but i have a strong memory of hearing a Wimbledon commentator back in the 60's or so saying the ball boys were using little landing nets to grab the balls at the net instead of their hands because they played so much soccer (instead of baseball or football) that they needed to use them...
