  1. I don't believe the numbers are close to being back up; I saw a story in the paper just some weeks ago that was discussing it, so there is still a crisis. I don't know why they aren't making a bigger deal out of it. Without bees, many crops would die, and without food, humans would, too. I think it has a lot to do with genetically modified food crops:

  2. No since this happened there has been loss of 50-90%. Decline in the 4500 alternate pollinators.
