  1. egg.

from the evolutionary ancestor of the hen.

  2. The hen. God created it. Read Genesis in the Bible.

  3. I believe it is the egg.

Considering the theory of evolution, the egg must have come from a pre-evolved "chicken" in the past. Then after many years, the "chicken" developed certain traits as to its adaptation in the environment and responses to stimuli. The egg inherited these traits and then gave the characteristics of the first real chicken.

  4. The hen appeared first because God made it.  Does anyone see how ridiculous evolution is?  Seriously.  It makes no sense.  Which came first is impossible to answer with evolution in mind.

  5. I have thought about this one and it depends on what and who you believe in.

The chicken came first just as man did.

How could you put a child on this earth and have no one to look after it.

Same goes for a chick or an egg.

  6. aha, this must be the oldest question in the universe :)

I would say that its more likely that the egg appeared first!

Now you will ask me: where did the first egg come from then?

I would say that the first egg was  different than all the eggs we see today and it came from something quite different than a hen. Example: the butterfly comes from a cocoon but the cocoon doesn't come from the butterfly, it comes from something completelly different - silkworm

  7. A mutation happened in either a very close relative which laid the egg OR it happened IN the egg after the egg was laid. Either way, the hen was a mutation of a close relative and it can not be determined when the mutation occurred, before or after, the egg was laid by the close relative. Of course, if you do not believe in evolution, then this point is moot, the hen was MADE that way...

  8. well I guess you need to have to hen to have an egg but think about evolution and each generation of that certain bird slowly turning into what we call chickens... so from what I just said I don't really have an answer for your question...nobody can tell you since there is no way of knowing for sure so you will never find answers for this question on yahoo answers...lol sorry
